A Drink for Sleep and Joint Pain

 

Since last year, I've really been struggling with falling asleep. I know that this is a common problem among others with chronic illness. To help, my naturopathic doctor prescribed that I make this drink each night before bed.

The nutmeg, saffron and almonds are to help with sleep, and the turmeric and frankincense are for joint pain. Turmeric is often recommended for arthritis because it is a spice with natural anti-inflammatory properties. 

I've been taking this drink for 2 months now, and have noticed it has made a difference. I hope you too find relief with this recipe.

Ingredients & Directions

  • 1 cup of Almond Milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric

  • A pinch of nutmeg

  • 2 strands of saffron

  • 1/4 teaspoon of Frankincense (Boswelia) in powder form 

Mix ingredients in pot until the mixture boils. Serve and enjoy!
